Web Desk: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday inaugurated a major flyover project in Islamabad, describing it as a landmark development for the city. He congratulated Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and his team for completing the project within a record timeframe, emphasising the quality of construction and the improved travel facilities it will provide for citizens.

Projects aimed at public welfare

“The rapid completion of such projects for public welfare is commendable,” the prime minister said, adding that initiatives designed to ease everyday travel hold particular significance for ordinary residents. He also noted that the flyover will offer commuters a smoother and safer journey, enhancing overall urban mobility.

Minister highlights urban relief and future plans

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi called the project a major relief for Islamabad’s residents, pointing out that traffic congestion at key intersections, including T-Chowk, had long been a persistent issue. He noted that the expressway completed last year, alongside the new flyover, would soon be complemented by a service road project to further ease city traffic.

Vision 2027 and urban transformation

Naqvi added, “After two years, residents will witness a transformed Islamabad,” highlighting the government’s commitment to Vision 2027 and, moreover, continued urban development. Furthermore, authorities said the initiative reflects a broader effort to enhance infrastructure, improve traffic flow, and ultimately provide lasting benefits for the city’s population.
