Indonesia’s President holds meeting with CDF Asim Munir

Islamabad: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, met Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday in Islamabad, where both sides pledged to strengthen defence ties and expand cooperation.

Focus on Security and Regional Stability


During the meeting, the two leaders discussed regional security, defence collaboration and broader matters of mutual interest. They reaffirmed their resolve to enhance existing military-to-military engagement between the two countries, which have long referred to each other as brotherly partners.

Indonesia Praises Pakistan’s Military Professionalism


Prabowo acknowledged the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and praised Islamabad’s role in advancing regional peace and stability. He noted that Indonesia views Pakistan as a key defence partner in South Asia.

Commitment to Expanded Defence Collaboration


Munir reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its relationship with Indonesia. He emphasized Islamabad’s intent to broaden cooperation in training, counterterrorism and capacity-building initiatives. The visit, officials said, underlined a shared commitment to maintaining regional stability and building a more robust defence partnership. Both sides signaled that further exchanges and joint initiatives would follow, reflecting their increasing convergence on security priorities and defence modernization.
