Lahore: Good news for students in Punjab as Punjab Government has decided to hold intermediate and matriculation exams after the month of Ramadan. Giving students both the additional time to study and letting them enjoy Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr.
The decision was announced by Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat on Wednesday in Lahore. He called that they step was purely taken for the convenience of students across the province.
Hundreds of thousands of students would have to prepare for exams during Ramadan and faced challenges. Keeping this in mind the Punjab government decided to postpone the exams. According to Rana Sikandar this shift in schedule will reduce both academic stress and allow students to focus on their religious obligations. This will also give them extra time for preparation.
For the provincial education department, the comfort of students remains a top priority as emphasized by the education minister.
The initial date for matric exams that came out last month was March 3, 2026.
New Exams Dates?
The finalized new dates will be shared as soon as possible with the students as per the announcement. Education boards all over Punjab will be restructuring their schedules according to this announcement.
Schools and Colleges across Punjab have been instructed to restructure their schedules accordingly.
Some rumors do suggest that the exams will take place after March 24.
About 2.5 million students from Punjab will be appearing Matric board exams this year. While more than 300,000 students from Lahore will be appearing in Matric board exams.
