RAWALPINDI: The China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and The Pakistan Army have started Warrior-IX. This will the ninth round of their yearly annual counter-terrorism exercise. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The exercise aims to boost joint capacity for modern counter-terror operations. The latest edition began on 1st December 2025.
The exercise is focusing on sharpening professional skills, improving coordination, and sharing operational experience. The depth of Pakistan-China defence ties are also highlighted by this which are built on strategic cooperation, trust and a shared goal of regional stability.
The opening ceremony was attended by senior officers from both sides. It was conducted at the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC) in Pabbi.
Mangla Corps Commander, Major General Bian Xiaoming and Deputy Chief of Staff of the PLA’s Western Theatre command were included in the attendees. Both the countries place importance on continued security collaboration. This participation by high ranking individuals from both countries shows this.
Pakistan-China Defence partnership and their common resolve to meet emerging security challenges is reflected by Warrior-IX.
The exercise was also confirmed by China’s defence ministry a day earlier. It said that troops from Pakistan Army and PLA Western Theatre command will take part in the joint counter-terrorism drills in Pakistan
