⏱ 1 minute read
Khwaja Asif

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has rejected speculation surrounding the notification of the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) under the 27th Amendment. He said the notification will be issued as soon as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif returns to the country.

In a post on X, Asif said the process for issuing the CDF notification has already begun. The prime minister is returning soon, he added. The notification will be released immediately after his arrival.

He stated that there is no need for further internal or external speculation. According to Asif, irresponsible rumours are being spread about the CDF notification. He said the public should know that the procedure is underway. Once the prime minister lands back in Pakistan, the notification will be issued without delay. He added that speculation on the matter should now come to an end.
