Islamabad: Shalimar Recording & Broadcasting Company Limited (SRBC), the operator of ATV, has announced that all employees of ATV will be released this month as part of a liquidation process overseen by the Islamabad High Court.
Liquidation Order Triggers Complete Staff Exit
In an office directive dated 24 November 2025, the company said the court’s instructions require the organization to end the services of its entire workforce by the close of business on 30 November. The decision affects every category of staff, including permanent and contract workers, deputed and temporary personnel, daily-wage staff, broadcast resource contributors and employees holding additional or acting responsibilities. The order also covers individuals currently on leave.
Employees Asked to Complete Handover by 28 November
As part of the wind-down, SRBC has directed all outgoing staff to submit written updates on their assignments and certify completion of tasks. They must also return official files, documents, login credentials, equipment, media-storage devices and other operational materials by 28 November. Designated focal persons within administration, finance, engineering, technical and station management units have been assigned to receive the handovers.
Clearance Documents and Personal Details Required
Employees have additionally been told to provide clearance acknowledgments, bank account information, copies of national identity cards and updated contact details to the Administration Office before their exit. According to the directive, all financial entitlements such as gratuity where applicable, leave encashment, pending salary adjustments and legitimate claims will be calculated under SRBC’s service regulations and relevant laws. Payments will depend on the availability of funds generated during liquidation and will follow the priority list endorsed by the Islamabad High Court.
Company Stresses Move Is Not Disciplinary
SRBC emphasized that the cessation of employment is solely a consequence of the court-approved dissolution process and should not be interpreted as punitive action against any staff member.
Liquidators Issue Formal Notice
The order was signed by Muhammad Atif Saeed on behalf of Khilji Rahat Waheed, Chartered Accountants, who are serving as the court-appointed liquidators for the state broadcaster. Copies of the notice have been circulated to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Pakistan Television Corporation, Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation, Pakistan National Council of the Arts and posted on SRBC’s notice board.
