ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has not carried out any attack against Afghanistan adding that we never target civilian population, DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif said.
Talking to senior journalists, DG ISPR clarified that whenever Pakistan conducts any operation, it announces it beforehand and never targets civilians. DG ISPR also said that all the suicide bombings happened in Pakistan were done by Afghan Nationals.
He added that, from Pakistan’s perspective, there are no “good” or “bad” Taliban, and no distinction is made among terrorists.
He urged the Taliban government to act like a state, not as a non-state actor. In response to a question, he said that even the duration of the Taliban’s interim government should follow state principles.
He stated, “We are a state, and we respond as a state. Blood and business cannot run together. It is impossible for us to face attacks and continue trade at the same time.”
Finally, he emphasized that Pakistan is not against the Afghan people but stands firmly against terrorism.
He said the trial of General Faiz Hameed is a legal and judicial matter, and speculation should be avoided. He assured that once the matter reaches a final decision, it will be announced immediately.
On non-customs vehicles, DG ISPR said an immediate ban should be imposed, as such vehicles have been used in many terrorist incidents.
