‘We will respond to 27th Constitutional Amendment after consulting with Imran Khan,’ says Barrister Gohar

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Barrister Gohar has said that the founder PTI Imran Khan, will respond to the 27th Constitutional Amendment after discussing it with his party.

Barrister Gohar stated that the government has brought the bill, no one has seen the details, the NFC award has never been tampered with, and nothing should be done without consulting the provinces.

Salman Akram Raja noted that the concept of an independent judiciary is being abolished; we will oppose this amendment.

Reacting to the 27th Constitutional Amendment, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar said that from Bilawal’s statement, we came to know about the constitutional amendment. If constitutional benches are created, the narrative is that the delivery of justice will be improved. He asked what they are playing with the judiciary.

Several Parliamentarians from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) confirmed that they were completely unaware of the 27th Constitutional Amendment, the private media channel reported on Wednesday.

According to the media, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz did not consult with its parliamentarians regarding the new amendment.

According to the media report, multiple parliamentarians came to know about the 27th Amendment and its details through a post on X by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.  

Multiple PML-N’s parliamentarians said that they were completely unaware about the amendment, and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s post on X about the amendment was a surprise for them.  

They even confirmed that the party in power did not call a meeting to give information about the amendment to its workers.

However, the Pakistan People’s Party will decide whether to support the 27th Amendment or not in its Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting.
