U.S. President Donald Trump has told Narendra Modi to avoid war with Pakistan. Donald Trump said while addressing a Diwali celebrations ceremony on Monday that he had a briefed telephonic conversation with Modi on many issues including trade.
Donald Trump stated that he had told Modi that there should be no war with Pakistan, asserting that he helped defuse rising tension through diplomacy and trade pressure.
While talking to the media on Diwali celebrations in Oval office, Trump said he spoke with Modi on the phone to discuss trade and other matters.
“We talked about a lot of things, but mostly the world of trade,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office.
“I told him that war with Pakistan should not happen,” adding that he believed “issues can be resolved through trade.”
The US president stated that he had averted eight wars through “deals and trade”, including one between India and Pakistan.
