Pakistan Army under the leadership of Field Marshal proved that they know how to defend the homeland, PM

A high-level meeting on repatriation of Afghan refugees was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. The meeting was attended by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir , Federal Ministers, Chief Ministers of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister's representative and federal and provincial high officials. The Prime Minister welcomed the participants of the meeting. He stated that he had a telephonic conversation with the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa yesterday, in which he congratulated him and assured all support from the federation. The Prime Minister said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is an important unit of the federation and the federal government is ready to extend all possible cooperation with the provincial government for the welfare and development of its people. Due to the absence of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi in the meeting, he was represented by Muzammil Aslam. The Prime Minister said that Pakistan has helped Afghanistan, which has been in difficulties for decades, in every difficult time. In the war on terror, Pakistan sacrificed thousands of precious lives and suffered billions of dollars in economic losses. Terrorist attacks on Pakistan from the soil of Afghanistan and involvement of Afghan citizens in these attacks are worrisome. He said the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Defence Minister and other senior government officials visited Afghanistan several times and held talks with the Afghan caretaker government to stop the use of Afghan soil for terrorism in Pakistan. Pakistan tried its best to prevent infiltration from Afghanistan through diplomatic and political means. The Prime Minister said that the brave people of Pakistan, who sacrificed their loved ones in the war on terror, now question how long the government will bear the burden of Afghan refugees. He directed that all provincial governments, federal and provincial institutions should ensure the repatriation of Afghans illegally present in Pakistan as soon as possible in close cooperation. The Prime Minister said that Afghanistan's recent attack and Khawaraj's attempts to infiltrate into Pakistan were worrisome, however, Pakistan's brave forces gave a befitting response to these attacks. The forces of Pakistan, led by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, repelled the invasions of Afghanistan, for which the entire nation pays tribute to them. The Prime Minister added that the forces led by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir have also proved during the Indian offensive that they know how to defend the homeland with their professional skills. The meeting was given a detailed briefing on the repatriation of Afghan refugees. The meeting was informed that phased repatriation of Afghan refugees residing in Pakistan has started and 14,77,592 Afghans have been repatriated as of 16 October 2025. It was further reported that Afghan refugees will not be given any additional respite and their repatriation will be ensured soon. The meeting was informed that only Afghans who have a visa to Pakistan will be allowed to stay in Pakistan. The number of exit points towards Afghanistan is being increased to make the repatriation process faster and easier. It was stated in the meeting that it is a legal offence to harbour or allow illegal Afghans to stay in guesthouses, and the process of identifying such persons is underway. The Prime Minister directed that during the repatriation of Afghan refugees, the elderly, women, children and minorities should be treated with respect. He also said that the public should be made partners in the process and no one should be allowed to harbour illegal Afghan citizens in violation of government policies. The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the Chief Ministers of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan and the representative of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa appreciated Pakistan's diplomatic efforts and paid tribute to the central role played by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in this regard. At the end of the meeting it was decided that all recommendations regarding repatriation of Afghan refugees will be strictly adhered to. The Prime Minister directed the provinces to fully cooperate with the federal government in the repatriation process.
