Peshawar Goes Under Section 144 as Federal Board Exams Begin October 21st

⏱ 2 minute read

Web desk: With the crucial annual Intermediate Exams right around the corner, students across Peshawar are buckling down for their final preparations.

However, the preparations this year would not be held under the usual circumstances. In a decisive move to protect the integrity of the exams, the Peshawar District Administration has invoked Section 144, effectively turning all exam centres into quiet zones.

The Clock is Ticking: Exams Start October 21

The official declaration confirms that the Federal Board (FBISE) exams for Intermediate students are set to begin on Monday, October 21st.

This is the moment of truth for thousands of young people, and the administration is determined to eliminate any distractions.

What is Section 144?

The candidates should think of Section 144 as a temporary ‘No-Disturbance Zone’ for students. The rule makes a lot of sense when you consider the stress and pressure students face.

The core of the order is simple:

  • No Crowds, No Chaos: All forms of public assembly, loitering, or grouping are strictly banned within a 200-yard radius of every examination centre.
  • A Fair Chance for All: The move is explicitly designed to clamp down on cheating, noise, and unauthorised interference. That means anything that could disrupt a focused student or compromise a fair test.
  • Zero Tolerance: The administration is not messing around. Any person who is caught ignoring or breaking this rule will face swift legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), regardless of whether they are an overly anxious parent or a group trying to cause trouble.

The message from Peshawar’s administration is clear: Your hard work deserves a secure environment.

This measure isn’t about creating fear; it’s about creating peace and quiet where it matters most: outside the examination halls.

It’s time for students to put their heads down and for everyone else to respect their space.
