Spokesperson Pakistan Army has stated that the Indian-backed Fitna-ul-Khwarizm in the Afghan border area and the unprovoked attack on Pakistan by the Afghan Taliban were aimed at fomenting instability and terrorism in the border areas which was thwarted by the armed forces through timely and decisive action. According to the Pakistan Army, during the operation, several terrorist hideouts, posts, camps and training centers were targeted across the border and 21 Afghan hideouts were temporarily occupied and terrorist camps were destroyed. The military claimed that more than 200 Taliban and militants were killed and several wounded in the operations while Taliban infrastructure suffered extensive damage in the border strip. During the border clashes, 23 Pak forces personnel were martyred and 29 personnel were injured. Army made immediate arrangements for relief and medical facilities and treatment is being provided to the injured personnel. In addition, special precautions were taken to protect civilians and prevent possible collateral damage. The Pakistan Army said in a statement that the operations were aimed at providing border support to terrorism and denying them safe havens. The military warned the Taliban government in strict terms to stop sponsoring and using terrorist organizations from its soil, otherwise Pakistan will continue to carry out effective operations. The statement added that the attempt to destabilize the region was thwarted by the collusion of the Taliban government and India. The provocative actions taken especially during the visit of the Taliban Foreign Minister to India are a threat to regional peace, and Pakistan has called on the Taliban government to take immediate and verifiable action.
