Pakistani singer, Quratulain Balouch known as QB has broken silence on bear attack in Skardu.

Her team has released a statement on her behalf.

In an Instagram post, her team has said that QB was in Baltistan as part of flood relief efforts, working with Comprehensive Disaster Response Services (CDRS) to support remote villages affected by the recent floods.

She was in a tent when she was attacked by a brown bear on the night of September 4th, CDRS team quickly tried and succeeded in scaring the bear away.

Quratulain Balouch is now well and suffered no fractures.

After the attack, the Gilgit-Baltistan government imposed an immediate ban on all camping in Deosai National Park.

“In future, no traveller or tourist will be able to camp at night,” GB government spokesperson Faizullah Faraq said in a statement, confirming the injured singer is out of danger.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

The Himalayan brown bear, native to Deosai, often moves toward the Bara Pani area in search of food.

Deosai National Park is a major summer attraction for national and international tourists. Authorities have urged visitors to exercise caution and pitch camps closer to hotels or designated safe zones.
